Can't beat the price, but now I know how much quality I was sacrificing for those savings... I guess I'll have to find a good butcher with reasonable prices when I get to Boston.

Ignorance is definitely (financial) bliss on such things... ;-Demmohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16110893152717708067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5233058818245130072.post-69331155402877684862008-10-22T07:23:00.000-07:002008-10-22T07:23:00.000-07:00that is a very nice picture of a buff orphington I...that is a very nice picture of a buff orphington I must say. hmmm your talk of great chicken makes me ashamed that we eat the foster farms... sigh, oh to be able to make informed food choices! I guess though, that if we somehow developed a palette here at my house our food costs would go through the roof!

I'm having fun this morning getting caught up on some of your posts.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00537591171431034328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5233058818245130072.post-58572144144402142902008-10-16T22:13:00.000-07:002008-10-16T22:13:00.000-07:00We haven't picked up any living chickens here. I'...We haven't picked up any living chickens here. I'm going to check where the chicken is imported from (everything in the grocery stores here tells you where it's from) when we go shopping today... I will definitely have to go on a quest to find good chicken when I get to Boston...

Even with their comparatively mediocre chicken, Melbourne does indeed have some amazing yogurt... especially the Greek yogurt... Good improvising with the straining of the European yogurt! ;-Demmohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16110893152717708067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5233058818245130072.post-72985214681135806062008-10-16T08:10:00.000-07:002008-10-16T08:10:00.000-07:00hehe...like the chicken-talk.. are the chickens so...hehe...like the chicken-talk.. are the chickens sold live over there? or frozen? live chickens here (hong kong)are ridiculously delicious as well! :) they are so chewy & juicy and also full of flavor (melbourne chickens taste unfresh to me (& sometimes had the refrigerator-y taste)...or rather..abit tasteless...) :(

by the way, grocery-shopping in new cities is super awesome? second that!! hehehe...i think it's THE best way to learn about a new culture!

hey you know! i started to make my own yogurt since i came here! & i strain the liquid off the european yogurt to make greek.. (so, runny yogurt on a muslin cloth in a colander. let it sit for about 2 hrs...and it's greek yogurt!) hehe greek is almost half the volume of european.. ;)JADYNhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17512656689286183882noreply@blogger.com
